Eight New Faculty and Staff Members Named at Genesee Community College

Eight new faculty and staff members will join Genesee Community College this fall, President Stuart Steiner announced to the Board of Trustees Monday evening.

Joining the faculty and staff are:
• Marlene L. Britt, Instructor of Psychology. Ms. Britt has taught at Sussex Community College, Niagara County Community, and D’Youville College. She holds a B.S. degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a M.A. degree from Montclair State University of New Jersey.
• Sarah Canfield, Instructor of Communications and Media Arts. Ms. Canfield taught at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts and Platt College in California. She has also worked as a freelance content writer, director, editor, and sound designer for a variety of west coast companies. She holds a B.A. degree from James Madison University and a M.F.A. degree from Chapman University.
• Morad Fairoz, Instructor, Physical Therapist Assistant Program and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education. Dr. Fairoz has spent his career in physical therapy, specializing in orthopedic therapy. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist (CIMT). He holds a B.S. degree from Seton Hall University, and M.S. and D.P.T. degrees from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
• Candice Faulring, Instructor of Psychology. Ms. Faulring has taught at the University at Buffalo, Niagara University, and Niagara County Community College. She holds an A.A. degree from Niagara County Community College; a B.A. degree from SUNY College at Geneseo; and a M.A. degree from the University at Buffalo.
• Michael Resetarits, Instructor of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science. Mr. Resetarits had a thirty-year career that included work as a senior development engineer, research and development director, and global product manager. He has taught at Erie Community College. He was recognized by Koch-Glitsch, Inc. six years ago with the company’s prestigious president’s award. Mr. Resetarits holds a B.S. degree from the University at Buffalo; a M.S. degree from Northwestern University; and a M.B.A. degree from Canisius College.
• Lauren M. Dickinson, Business Training Technical Specialist, The BEST Center. Ms. Dickinson holds an A.S. degree from Genesee Community College and a B.S. degree from SUNY College at Brockport. Most recently, Ms. Dickinson was working part-time in the College’s Fine Arts Department office.
• Charles Scruggs, Instructor of History and Political Science. Mr. Scruggs has taught at the University at Albany and the University of Notre Dame, as well as at area high schools. He has also served as a member of Genesee’s adjunct faculty. Mr. Scruggs holds an A.B. degree from Princeton University; a M.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame; and a M.S.Ed. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is completing requirements for a doctoral degree from the University of Notre Dame.
• Vega Sanchez Hernandez, Instructor of Spanish. Ms. Hernandez has served on the faculty of the Anglo-North American Center in Salamanca, Spain, and at other high schools in Spain, Connecticut, and New York. She has also taught at Buffalo State College. Ms. Hernandez holds a B.A. degree from Buffalo State College; a M.A. degree from the University at Buffalo; and a M.S. degree from the SUNY College at New Paltz.

“These new faculty and staff members have a variety of backgrounds,” said President Stuart Steiner. “They are a delightful mix of people, coming from as far away as California. They are going to add much to our faculty and staff.”
