Women's Soccer Opens Season By Pounding FMCC

The Lady Cougars Soccer team traveled to Johnstown on Tuesday and kicked off its season with an 8-0 pounding of Fulton-Montgomery CC. Freshman Adrienne Wells, a midfielder from Byron-Bergen, led the way by scoring four goals and adding an assist. Jen Cavanaugh, a freshman forward from Batavia, aided the cause with four assists and a goal.

Cavanaugh scored two goals in GCC's 4-2 win over Bryant & Stratton. Wells and freshman Tashina Abrams also scored for Genesee. The Lady Cougars then lost two games on the weekend. First, Broome CC came in and dealt the team a tough 4-1 loss on Saturday. Broome is currently ranked 6th among NJCAA Division III teams. On Sunday, Elizabeth Lawrence and Wells each scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to Morrisville.
