Batavia, NY- Genesee Community College is pleased to announce Ann Winters has been named February 2015 Employee of the Month. Ann is a computer support technician in the Computer Services department at GCC. She is also an alumna.

Ann came to Batavia from her native Buffalo to attend GCC and earned her associate’s degree in Computer Science from the College in 1975. She worked at Eastman Kodak as a business analyst/project lead handling a number of information technology related endeavors including the roll-out and implementation of a help desk for Kodak’s research department.

Her help desk experience remains valuable today at GCC as she assists in that area and other projects where necessary. “Ann has great communication skills and is good at coordinating multiple projects at once,” the College noted in naming her Employee of the Month. Her work supports many areas of computer services and telecom. “She does an outstanding job in all aspects of the Computer Services budget including planning, updating, facilitating, obtaining quotes and purchasing equipment and services for the College.” Ann is always willing to lend a hand and never hesitates to take on additional duties.

Ann has worked at GCC for a total of 14 years, both part-time and full-time. She enjoys the College because of “the people at GCC – kind, helpful and supportive!” Ann is active in the community and has twice earned a “Woman of the Year” award (2009 & 2010) from the Batavia Business and Professional Women’s Club.

Outside of work she enjoys her home and the life she shares with her wonderful husband, Wesley. They have two children, David who is married to Amber, and Kellie who is married to Jason McCaffery, and four grandchildren, Addison and Braeden Winters and new baby girl twins Sybil and Trudy McCaffery.
