Hansen Signs Letter of Intent at Wilmington University

Dana Hansen (Hilton, NY) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Wilmington University (DE) women’s soccer program beginning this fall.
Hansen, a two-year contributor at forward for the Genesee Community College women’s soccer team, scored a team-leading 13 goals last season and amassed 34 points during her sophomore campaign. She was an All-Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC) Second Team selection as a freshman and a First Team All-Region III and All-Conference selection as a sophomore.
Wilmington University competes at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II level in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Under head coach Josh Ruggiero, the Wildcats were 5-12-1 last season and lost in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament.
Genesee finished the 2013 season ranked fifth in the NJCAA National Poll and ended the year with a 13-4-1 overall record. The Lady Cougars advanced to the Region III Group B finals where they lost to SUNY Delhi in overtime.
