Background: The Forum Players Theatre Company of Genesee Community College present multi-arts Celebration of Black History this weekend. This event recognizes Black History Month and features a collage of music from Marvin Gaye to Izza Kizza, Scott Joplin to Fats Waller, as well as dance, poetry, moving monologues and a tribute to Nelson Mandela. Within the two acts, the Forum Players ensemble celebrates the achievements of black Americans and honors the central role of African Americans play in U.S. history. Excerpts from Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech and Reverend Jesse Jackson’s “Rainbow Coalition” will be included. This event promises to both excite and educate audiences of all ages while leaving many memorable and magical moments.

Tickets are $8. Seniors and GCC faculty/staff are $5. GCC alumni receive $2 off with ID.
