The Genesee Community College women's basketball team will continue its four-game road stretch on Thursday night at Mercyhurst North East. It will be the second of four straight road games for the Cougars and the second meeting of the season against the Saints.
Genesee (5-17, 0-6) has seen its losing skid reach 10 games and the Cougars are still searching for their first Western New York Athletic Conference win of the year.
Mercyhurst (11-8, 2-3) has lost three out of its last four games, all three losses against WNYAC opponents.
Last time out:
GCC fell on the road in its last non-conference game of the season on Tuesday night at Finger Lakes Community College, 71-60. Shanell Glover led the Cougars with 13 points and Dashawna Jenifer recorded another double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring 10 points.
Mercyhurst N.E. lost at home on Jan. 30 to Erie Community College, 57-50. No scorer reached double figures for the Saints, who shot just 26% from the floor in the loss.
What to watch for:
GCC scored a season-low 36 points in the first meeting against Mercyhurst North East on Jan. 14. MNE won the game, 46-36. The Cougars were just 11-48 from the field.
The Saints are 5-4 at home this season and GCC is 1-6 on the road.
