Batavia, NY - For three days last week, December 3-5, 2013, GCC’s CSU Club (Christian Students United) held its first annual Canned Food Drive in GCC’s Forum of the Batavia Campus. Offering a chance to win Beats Headphones, retailed value $180, dozens of individuals donated either three canned goods or $3 for each ticket and chance to win.
Through this first year’s effort, CSU Club collected 97 canned goods and $161 in cash, all of which was donated to Care-A-Van Ministries. Paul Ohlson, founder of Care-A-Van Ministries, stopped by the CSU Club meeting and luncheon yesterday, Thursday, December 12th at 12:30 p.m. to pick up the check and donations.
“For a first year effort and in just three days, the CSU Club was very pleased to have raised nearly $300 in either food stock or in cash to benefit the important services provided by Care-A-Van,” Debra Crossett, club advisor said.
