The Genesee Community College swimming and diving team kicked off it's 2013-14 season on Saturday afternoon, competing against SUNY Delhi, Herkimer County Community College and Jamestown Community College in the GCC Invitational.
Randi Rudnik and Jason Williams earned one of two first-place finishes on the afternoon for the Cougars in the 2x100 yard butterfly relay with a finishing time of 2:14.7. They joined Dakota Spink and Justin Popp in the 500-yard medley relay and took first place by more than 25-seconds, finishing in 6:08.52. Popp and Spink also teamed up for a second-place finish in the 2x100 yard backstroke relay, finishing in 2:39.21.
The women's relay team of Holly Barnes, Melanie Kinbaum, Molly Tyx and Katelyn Nice earned three third-place finishes, in the 2x200 yard freestyle relay (4:59.79), in the 200 yard medley relay (2:27.67) and in the 300 yard freestyle relay (3:32).
Spink, GCC's lone diver, took third-place in the men's competition with a finals score of 103.80.
