Don’t miss your chance to get the inside scoop on being a socially responsible and incredibly successful entrepreneur from Ben and Jerry’s Homemade, Inc. co-founder, Jerry Greenfield. Greenfield speaks at GCC in Batavia THIS Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 5 -7 p.m., including an ice cream reception. Greenfield is the featured speaker for the Wolcott J. Humphrey III Symposium on Leadership and Community Life, which recognizes and encourages the type of civic engagement and community leadership demonstrated by the late “Jay” Humphrey, who served on GCC’s Board of Directors and was President of Pavilion State Bank (now part of Five Star Bank).

Jerry Greenfield and Ben Cohen, who became friends in junior high school, opened their first Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop in 1978 in Burlington, VT. From the beginning, they set themselves apart with unique promotions, high-quality flavors, and a commitment to “linked prosperity,” sharing their success with their employees and the community. They had a great time doing it too. Greenfield remains president of the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation which funds projects that promote social change and economic justice.

Tickets to the Humphrey Symposium are $25 and still available by calling the GCC Foundation at 585-345-6809.
