Batavia, NY- Genesee Community College is excited to receive gold level recognition from two marketing communication organizations for its Picture Book, a publication that features six large-scale photographs of campus features including the clock tower, the nature trail, a smart classroom, an athletic field and the art gallery. The book was produced by GCC’s Admissions department with Forest Productions and Photography, Inc. of Buffalo.
The Picture Book received two Communicator Gold Level Awards of Excellence in the Print Category for Brochure/Viewbook and for Photography. The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring excellence in marketing and communications. The awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA). GCC’s entries were among more than 6,000 submitted from across the United States and around the world. Many leading professionals from various visual art disciplines are among IAVA’s more than 600 members. They are dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving natures of traditional and interactive media.
The Picture Book also earned two Gold Hermes Creative Awards, which honor the messengers and creators of traditional and emerging media. Hermes Awards are given by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), an organization which has earned a reputation for accuracy, fairness and credibility. GCC’s Picture Book won a Hermes Gold Award for Publications/Brochure and a Hermes Gold Award for Photography/Publication. The awards are judged over an eight week period by senior-level, experienced professionals.
“We are honored to receive these awards,” said Recruitment Publications and Communications Specialist Christie Hale. “Photographer Michael Mandolfo did an outstanding job capturing beautiful images of our campus.
