The impact of Genesee Community College on the economy of the GLOW region continues to grow. On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, GCC President Dr. James Sunser will be joined by Dr. Kjell A. Christopherson of Economic Modeling Specialists, Inc. (EMSI), an independent, internationally-recognized research organization, to detail results of a new report The Economic Impact of Genesee Community College in the GLOW Region. The study calculates that GCC’s overall contribution to the local economy totals $169.1 million. EMSI’s study quantifies:
•Additional earning power of GCC graduates
•Additional tax contributions GCC graduates make to the community
•Contributions GCC makes to a healthier, better-employed populace, reducing public assistance and unemployment costs
