Genesee Center for the Arts Presents the Musical: The Triumph of Love

Batavia, New York – The Genesee Center for the Arts invites audiences to enjoy the Forum Players Theatre Company of Genesee Community College production of the dazzling musical, The Triumph of Love Thursday-Saturday, May 2 - 4 @ 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 @ 2 p.m. The entrancing musical is based on the 18th century comedy by Pierre Marivaux and the book by James Magruder.

Under the direction of Maryanne Arena, GCC’s director of Fine and Performing Arts, the GCC Forum Players, including current students, alumni and community members, present a beautiful musical about the trials and tribulations of a young Princess as she attempts to win the love of an exiled Prince. However, in attempting to win him she ensnares two others. In the end, all see the triumph of love. The Triumph of Love is a perfect combination of delightful music and lyrics and a charming, often hilarious book. It is for mature audiences and shouldn’t be missed!

The cast for Triumph of Love includes: Jake Bortle (Le Roy, NY) as Hermocrates; Emily Jones (Waterloo, NY) as Hesione; Margaret Gayford (High School senior from Warsaw, NY) as Princess Leonide; Tony Heard Jr. (Fillmore, NY) as Agis; Jordan Griffiths (Milford, NY) and Julie Crawford (Mt. Morris, NY) as Corine; Robert Reiss (Elba, NY) as Harlequin; and Aiden Bonacci (Aquinas High School, Rochester, NY) as Dumas. The assistant stage manager is Alayna Zimbrich (Hilton, NY), and assistant director and stage manager is Sarah Stabley (Perry, NY).

Ticket prices are: $8 /Adult, $5 /Senior Citizens and GCC Staff, $3/ GCC Students. This performance is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
