Baseball drops two at Mercyhurst

The Genesee Community College baseball team played at Mercyhurst North East in their first regional game of the season on Thursday and left empty handed.

In game one, the team was held to three hits while the pitching gave up six walks and hit five Mercyhurst NE batters. Genesee lost the first game 4-1.

In game two, the Cougars dropped a 7-4 decision. Genesee pitchers walked the bases loaded in the first inning and gave up four runs.

“It was the first time we had played since the spring trip and it was the first time we had been outside,” said Coach Sherman. “We need to play a few games and get back to where we were playing a couple of weeks ago.”

The last time the Cougars played outside was March 16th due to weather.

The Cougars are now 10-3 on the season and will travel to Lackawanna College on Sunday for their next doubleheader.
