Background:
Genesee Community College’s significant economic contributions to the GLOW region continue to grow, according to a new study conducted by Economic Modeling Specialists, Inc. (EMSI), an independent, internationally-recognized research organization. The study calculates that GCC’s overall contribution to the local economy totals $169.1 million.

Utilizing state-of-the-art, peer-reviewed research techniques, EMSI quantifies:
•Additional earning power of GCC graduates
•Additional tax contributions GCC graduates make to the community
•Contributions GCC makes to a healthier, better-employed populace, reducing public assistance and unemployment costs

GCC President Dr. James Sunser will be joined by Dr. Kjell A. Christophersen of EMSI in presenting the report The Economic Impact of Genesee Community College in the GLOW Region on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in room T-102 of the Conable Technology Building on the GCC Batavia campus. The event is sponsored by the College, the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce, the Genesee County Economic Development Center, and the Genesee Community College Foundation.
