The #4 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team defeated Hudson Valley Community College 15-0 on Thursday afternoon in their first road contest of the season.
Genesee started very fast with Saxon Weil scoring one minute into the game, and GCC took 9-0 lead after the first period.
Brady Lawrence had eight saves in 40 minutes of play in net and also added an assist. Craig Seneca and Mark Pucek chipped in to earn the shutout with Lawrence and tallied five total saves.
Jordan McElligott, Pete Dilaura, Johnny Astrologo and Bobby Wheeler combined for 13 caused turnovers and 15 groundballs.
Mike Breindel was 7 of 11 on faceoffs and Charlie Evans was 4 of 5 on faceoffs and also added a goal.
The Genesee offense was led by Jonathan Gill who had four goals and one assist. Tyler Skrownski scored three goals and added an assist, Saxon Weil chipped in a goal and three assists, Christian Reiller posted two goals and an assist and Chris Rabung had two points with one goal and one assist.
The Cougars improve to 3-0 on the season and will travel to Nassau Community College for a noon start on Saturday.
