Women's Basketball falls at Jamestown

For the second time this season, the Genesee Community College women's basketball team nearly overcame a double-digit deficit in the second half against Jamestown Community College, but fell to the Lady Hawks on Thursday night, 72-52.

Genesee shot just 24% from the floor in the first half to dig themselves a 31-18 hole at the break.

The Lady Cougars made an 18-10 run to begin the second half and cut the Jamestown lead down to just five with twelve-minutes remaining.

The home team took back control of the game and went on a 22-12 run in the final seven minutes to seal the victory.

Dominique Davis was the only Lady Cougar into double-figures, scoring 15 points. Becky James added nine points, Dashawna Jenifer chipped in eight points and Paige Hennings grabbed a team high eight rebounds.

Genesee falls to 0-8 in conference play and 1-19 on the season. They will return to action on Tuesday night when they host Mercyhurst North East at 6pm.
