Batavia, NY- Students graduating from Genesee Community College and transferring to a New York State four-year member institution can now apply for the 2013 New York State Transfer and Articulation Association Scholarship.
This year, the scholarship committee will be awarding four scholarships valued at $2,000 each. Students applying must have completed an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science or Associate in Applied Science by August 2013 from an active NYSTAA two-year member college, such as Genesee Community College. They must also have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5, apply and plan on attending a current four-year NYSTAA member institution, and complete an application.
A letter of recommendation from a college administrator or faculty member, as well as an official transcript will need to be provided in order for scholarship consideration. A short essay will also be required to complete the application process.
The deadline to apply for the 2013 NYSTAA Scholarship is March 1, 2013 and the application to apply can be found on the NYSTAA website (http://www.nystaa.org/index.php?page=transfer-scholarship). “This scholarship is ideal for students who are seeking to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree,” Patrick G.
