The Genesee Community College swimming and diving team took part in the Monroe Community College Invitational this weekend. The men’s team swam to a third place finish and the women finished in fourth.
Yusuke Inami won the men’s 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:22.835. Inami also took home first place honors in the men’s 200 yard Butterfly with a new meet record. Inami added his third first place of the invitational when he won the 400 yard Individual Medley with a new meet record. Inami also teamed up with Housni Azelmad, Ie Makato and Jacob Finkney to win the 200 yard Medley Relay.
The women’s relay team of Calla Wolfley, Amber Landschoot, Kara Mance and and Elizabeth Maier finished third in the 4x800 Freestyle Relay. Brianne Strong finished second in the 100 Backstroke while Melissa Krause finished second in the 100 Breastroke.

The next event for the swimming and diving team will be on January 12th as they will be competing in the Herkimer County Community College Invitational.
