Batavia, NY- Anyone interested in exploring career changes, earning a college degree and expanding their horizons—should stop by the Open House at the Dansville Campus Center on Saturday, December 1 at 9 a.m. And, if career development opportunities aren’t enough of an inducement—enjoy a free, live holiday dance performance!
Open House visitors will have the chance to talk with college advisors about their career aspirations and review dozens of academic programs; they can begin the college application process; and discover the array of different schedules offered by GCC, including day and evening courses at Dansville. In addition, tours of the new Dansville Campus Center, which relocated to 31 Clara Barton Street, will be given all morning long. Visitors can see the many classrooms, modern science labs, art and ceramic studio, gymnasium, the 550-seat auditorium and the cafeteria, as well as stop in the Clara Barton Commons community room.
To help celebrate the occasion, the GCC Cougarettes Dance Team will give a free performance in auditorium to holiday songs such as “Santa Baby,” “All I want for Christmas,” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” Immediately following their dynamic show, “The Four Dead Trees,” a Batavia based rock band will perform a concert featuring original songs: “Corona Commercial,” “Here’s to the Women,” and “For a Ride,” and also some cover music including “Ramblin’ Man,” “Born to be Wild,” “Sweet Caroline” and more. Band members of The Four Dead Trees include Jerry Newell, Kenny Drury and Billy “Blaze” Baker. The live performances will take place in the auditorium and begin at 10:30 a.m.
