The Genesee Community College men's basketball team ended a two-game slide on Sunday afternoon, defeating The Thomas School, 72-61.
E.J. Blackwell led the way for Genesee with 25 points in 39 minutes of action. Vaughn Boler scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Malik Brown added eleven points, Thierry Ngarambe chipped in nine rebounds and Maurice Bailey scored eight points.
The Cougars led the majority of the game and held off a late charge by The Thomas School by going 7-9 from the free-throw line in the final minute of play.
Genesee will return to action on Friday night at the Columbus State Community College Tournament in Ohio.
