What: Discover Lincoln Contest Imagination Station Perfect for Pending Deadline

Who:History, Lincoln and Civil War enthusiasts as well as videographers and creative geniuses!
Genesee Community College is still accepting entries for the Discover Lincoln Contest! The best video, poster, speech, bumper sticker or campaign button will be awarded prizes for illustrating the following question: If Abraham Lincoln was running for president today, what would his campaign look/sound like?
Get some creative help and have fun with your entries at the Inspiration Station which will be set up on Saturday, October 20th, just after the Cool Kids Monkey Biz morning program.
•From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th, brainstorm ideas and look over tons of Lincoln materials, including children’s books, cartoons, clip art, posters, a photo opportunity to see yourself on Mount Rushmore, plus pens, markers, and paper pre-cut for bumper sticker and button entries.
•Pizza will be on sale from 12-12:30 p.m. to help keep those creative juices flowing.
•The stimulating atmosphere continues at 12:30 p.m. with the Excelsior Fife and Drum Corps performing music from the Civil War Era.
•The “School of the Solder” at approximately 1:30 p.m. will feature Civil War re-enactors presenting a program about soldier’s uniforms and weapons, and going through battlefield drills.
Contest entries are due by email or hand delivery to GCC’s Library by 4 p.m. on October 20th, and a reception to honor the winners is Friday, October 26th at 11a.m. in the GCC Library. Entry details are available online: http://www.genesee.edu/library/about-the-library/lincoln-discovery-contest/
