GCC's Condensed 8-Week Courses Start October 22

In just eight weeks, students at Genesee Community College can earn three college credits, and select from more than 70 different courses—all beginning on October 22 and running through December 14, 2012.

Batavia, NY- In just eight weeks, students at Genesee Community College can earn three college credits, and select from more than 70 different courses—all beginning on October 22 and running through December 14, 2012. The eight-week format is designed for students who need an accelerated course schedule to mesh with their busy lives and many responsibilities. It is particularly ideal for adult students who may not have the time to attend classes over a traditional 15-week semester.

Many of GCC’s classes are offered online, and also at all seven GCC’s campus locations. There are also classes that follow the hybrid format which blends on-campus classes and/or laboratories with online lessons and homework delivery.

“Whether students are just starting their academic degrees or are looking for college credit to complete a degree or certificate program, the eight week program can be a perfect solution,” Tanya Lane-Martin, GCC’s assistant dean for Enrollment Services and director of Admissions said. “We also find some students who want to retake a course to earn a better grade and they, too, find the eight week classes are perfect for them.”

Among GCC’s eight-week course offerings are: Fashion Trends and Design, Principles of Business, Microcomputer Applications, Microeconomics, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Human Relations 1, Psychology and Western Art History 2. For the complete listing or further information about all of
