The Genesee Community College women’s soccer team came back and defeated North Country Community College 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, to earn their third victory of the season.
North Country CC got on the board first, scoring seven minutes into the game when Chelsea Lafountain came in and scored on Genesee keeper Nicole Patterson. The host Cougars tied the game midway through the first half after Kaleigh DiSalvo nodded the match at one with an un-assisted goal.
The Lady Cougars would keep the pressure on North Country CC throughout the second half and with less than seven minutes remaining, Rachel Ball put in the game winning-goal with assists going to Denae McGrath and Dana Hansen.
Nicole Patterson made eight saves in net for the Lady Cougars and Emily Lapage stopped 18 Cougar shots for North Country.
Genesee returns to the pitch on Sunday September 30th at 1:00pm against Tompkins-Cortland Community College.
