Batavia, New York —Festive décor, exceptional food, esteemed guests and the entrancing melodies of a prestigious symphony will once again combine for a joyful fundraising evening at Genesee Community College this winter.
All Aboard the Encore Express arrives at the Batavia campus on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. The annual holiday celebration supports student scholarships with a gala reception in the William W. Stuart Forum, followed by the renowned Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra performing seasonal favorites under the baton of distinguished conductor Paul Ferington in the Stuart Steiner Theatre. The delightful evening concludes with an exquisite dessert nightcap back in the Forum.
Chairpersons Dan and Debbie Fischer of Oakfield are hosting the black tie-optional affair. They bring a wealth of community involvement to Encore, through their active ownership of WBTA Radio and their commitment to service.
“There is no greater gift that a community can give to its young people than a quality education,” Mr. Fischer said at a recent planning meeting. “We are pleased and proud to be a part of this year’s Encore celebration.”
Proceeds from Encore support the GCC Foundation Scholarship Fund and Five Star Bank has generously signed on to be the event’s Benefactor Sponsor. Sponsorship support is available at the following levels: Conductor- $1,000 entitles donor to six tickets for the event; Engineer- $600 and four tickets; Station Master- $300 and two tickets; and Single Passenger Patron- $100 per ticket.
“GCC gets your education on the right ‘track’ for the rest of your life,” added Mrs. Fischer with a smile.
