The Genesee Community College men's soccer team earned a road conference win this afternoon at Erie Community College.
The first half was a scrappy affair with few genuine chances created by either team. However in the second half, the Cougars came out flying and looked to assert their authority. After going close a couple of times, Genesee took the lead on a stunning Dom Francis strike from outside the box off of Declan Brennan's pinpoint long ball. The Cougars soon made it 2-0 when Theo Stamatopolous finished from close range off of an assist from Nathan Rose's. Francis rounded out the scoring with a penalty kick to give Genesee a 3-0 lead. Matt Evans and Jake O'Leary combined for the clean sheet in goal, keeping the final score 3-0.
Genesee improves to 2-1 on the season and will return to action at home on Saturday at 4pm when they host Onondaga Community College.
