Batavia, NY - A new president, national praise for student satisfaction and recognition for leadership in evaluating student success are just some of the highlights of the just-released 2010-2011 Genesee Community College Annual Report entitled, “Celebrating the Past and Shaping the Future.”
The 16-page Annual Report featuring a 24-page insert from the GCC Foundation is now available online at
http://gcc.z-paper.com/GCC_AnnRep_2010_2011/#/1/zoomed. With a series of “then” and “now” photographs, the report emphasizes the tremendous growth the College has undergone over the last 45 years as well as the challenge of meeting ever-evolving College goals in uncertain financial times while continuing the mission of transforming the lives of the students, faculty, staff and the local community.
President James Sunser officially took the reins of the College in August 2011 with plans to continue the promise of changing lives and transform communities. The report reflects on some of the outcomes of his predecessors including recognition of GCC as a “Great College to Work For,” record-high levels of grant support, excellence in safety, successes of the Theatre Arts program, the Faces of Genesee campaign, and new collaborative programs including one with FATEC in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
It also shines a light on the College’s academic excellence and innovative coursework, while highlighting the strength of its academic guidance for student athletes. The report illustrates the college’s strong links to community noting the impact of programs such as Law Day and institutions such as The BEST Center and the new “Roz” Steiner Art Gallery. Statistics showing GCC’s revenues, grants and expenses, and a breakdown of the student population flesh-out the report.
The online Annual Report is easy to navigate with arrows to enlarge the reading area and to move from page-to-page, much like reading a physical report.
