WNYAC Special Awards

The Western New York Athletic Conference handed out its end of the year “Special Awards” last week, honoring three members of the Genesee Community College Athletics program.
Lindsay Chatt, a member of the GCC softball team, was named the Academic Female Athlete of the Year. Chatt also was named to the NJCAA Region III Academic All-Region List and was an NJCAA Pinnacle Award winner for Academic Excellence.
Connor Latimer, a member of the GCC men’s lacrosse team, was named the Senior Male Athlete of the Year. Latimer ended his GCC career as a two-time NJCAA All-American and holds the records for most goals in a single game with nine, most points in a single game with 14 and most career points with 217 as a member of the men’s lacrosse team.
GCC Athletic Director Peg Sission was honored with the Distinguished Person award. The award is given to an individual who has outstanding accomplishments or made significant contributions to a sport or athletics at the WNYAC level.
