Batavia, New York  — Beat the heat this summer with some cool entertainment at the Lima Campus Center of Genesee Community College! Bring your own lawn chair and grab some free eats while you listen to some awesome entertainers on the patio outside the student lounge, as GCC/Lima continues its FREE Party on the Patio concert series.

The series opens on Thursday, June 21, 2012 with the dynamic duo, the Dady Brothers. John and Joe Dady play a variety of musical styles from Country to Irish and a number of instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, bodhran (an Irish frame drum), uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes) and even a penny whistle (a simple flute). The free hot dog cookout starts at 6:30pm, and the concert gets underway at 7:00.

On Thursday, July 19 at 7:00pm, the Sweet Adelines will deliver a cappella harmonies to keep the night warm and welcoming, and Lima's own American Idol contestant, Jonathan Stills, brings his original and classic R&B song stylings to the campus center on Thursday, August, 16. Both concerts open with free dogs and drinks a half hour before the show.

The popular Kids College also returns to Lima in August. Classes are aimed at students entering grades 1 through 6. The registration deadline for two week-long sessions featuring lessons in Chinese and sign language, karate, zumba, music, science and art is July 1, 2012. Classes will run from 8:30am until 4:00pm daily during two sessions: August 6-10 and August 13-17. The cost is $125 per session for the first child, and $115 for each additional sibling, per session, and includes lunch and nutritious snacks each day, a book and a t-shirt. Artwork produced by students in Kids College will be on display during the Jonathan Stills concert.
