Batavia, New York - There’s bounty to be had at the first ever PILLAGE THE VILLAGE “yarrrd” sale at College Village behind the Batavia campus of Genesee Community College on Thursday, May 10, 2012. From 11:00am-5:00pm, you’ll be able to fill your coffers with treasures and bounty plundered from student dorms.
The lawn sale will feature a trunk load of household goods, galley items and other articles the students no longer need as they cleanout their “shanties” at the end of the semester. There will be no hornswoggling (cheating), or patrons and pirates might find themselves facing keelhaul and walking the plank. Cash or doubloons (gold coins) will be gratefully accepted in exchange for the booty! No credit cards mateys!
“Pillage the Village lawn sale is a terrific way to pass along some highly-useable items at great prices,” said Shannon Scheening, graduate assistant of College Village. “It’s also a green event because by recycling these items, it keeps them out of our landfills!”
Shoppers will be delighted to know that on the same day GCC’s Alpha Epsilon Gamma service organization will hold a rummage sale in the College Forum from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
