Chan-Man Named NJCAA Third Team All-American

Genesee Community College sophomore guard Kenton Chan-Man has been named to the 2012 NJCAA All-American third team.
Also named to the All Western New York Athletic Conference first team this year, Chan-Man appeared in every game and led the Cougars in scoring, averaging 20.3 points per game. He scored 30 or more points in five games and led the WNYAC in total points with 588. The Brooklyn, NY native also averaged 3.1 rebounds per game and 1.6 assists per game.
He is one of 30 Division II junior college players honored with All-American recognition this season.
“Kenton is one of the most explosive players I’ve ever coached in my life,” said head coach Terry George. “He had a unique blend of speed, athleticism and an ability to put the ball in the basket. I am very proud of Kenton’s performance this season and I wish him the best going forward.”
Chan-Man becomes the first player under George to earn All-American honors and the eighth men's basketball player in Genesee’s history. The last Cougar to earn All-American honors was Leon Nelson in 2010.
