Batavia, New York - Last fall, more than 1,800 Genesee County residents were enrolled in various classes at Genesee Community College’s Batavia campus. Rick Mancuso of Mancuso Properties of Batavia, is chairman of the GCC Foundation’s Genesee County campaign and says this statistic clearly illustrates how valuable the College is to the community. “Knowing that so many people in our community benefit from ongoing success at GCC, both as educational leader and an economic driver, I am honored to head up this year’s annual campaign,” Mancuso said.
Mancuso is welcoming several volunteers who are helping with the Genesee County campaign this year: Dave Cecere, Kerry Landfried, Yvonne Peck, Ralph Marsucci, Lyle Starkweather and Ron Funke. “The affordable, highly regarded education that is provided to students, as well as the economic impact the college has within our community, makes supporting GCC a natural fit for anyone interested in our youth and our community, “ says Mancuso. “Please invest in our residents, and our future leaders and employees.”
This year’s campaign co-chairs are Rick Henry of Clark Patterson and Lee, and GCC Foundation Board member and a 1972 GCC graduate, Monica Hale Dawson of Shepard, Maxwell and Hale Insurance.
The Genesee Community College Foundation was initiated in the mid 1980’s as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing service and support to the college. Its 30-member board of directors is comprised of business and civic leaders, and raises funds to support student scholarships and grants.
Contributions may be sent to the GCC Foundation, One College Road, Batavia, NY 14020. For more information, please contact the Foundation at (585) 343-0055 or email@example.com
