Men's Lacrosse earns road Win

The Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the 2012 campaign, defeating Finger Lakes Community College 23-8 on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars started fast, taking a 10-2 lead after the first quarter and controlled the rest of the game from there. Rashad Brown (Lockport) went 7 of 10 on face-offs and led the team with 7 groundballs. Mike Breindel (Frontier), went 9 of 15 on face-offs. Goalies Pat McMahon (Sweet Home) & Brady Lawrence (St. Catherines, ON) split the game, with each making eight saves and letting in four goals.
Genesee was led in scoring by attackman Connor Latimer (Whitby, ON), who scored seven goals and added four assists. Gahenew Printup (Tuscarora) scored two goals and assisted on five goals and Jon Gill (Cattaraugus Territory) tallied five goals and one assist. Midfielders Spencer Halliwell-Allen (St. Catherines, ON) scored a goal and had four assists, Chip Chapman (Batavia) and Marcus Palvino (Spencerport) each had two goals and an assist. Saxon Weil (Williamsville East), Steven Raimondi (Sweet Home) and Vin Pedro (Batavia) each had one goal and one assist.

The Cougars will host Broome Community College on Wednesday, March 21st at 6pm for their home opener.
