Men's Lacrosse loses Season Opener

The Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team lost their season opener to the three-time defending NJCAA National Champions and the current #1 team in the country, falling to Onondaga Community College 24-9 on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 14-5 at the half, the Cougars got to within seven at 15-8 with three minutes left in the third. Turnovers and penalties prevented a further comeback however, and Genesee falls to 0-1 on the season.

Connor Latimer (soph attack) had 5 goals and 1 assist for 6 points
Gaehnew Printup (soph attack) had 1 goal 3 assists for 4 points
Jon Gill had (Fresh attack) 2 goals
Saxon Weil (fresh mid) 1 goal
Spencer Halliwell-Allen (soph mid) 2 assists
Marcus Palvino (Fresh mid) 1 assist
Chip Chapman (soph mid) 1 assist
Vin Pedro (soph defense) led the team with 9 groundballs..........Dylan Hickey (soph defense) had 7 ground balls and 4 takeaways.
Pat McMahon (soph goalie) had 32 saves and let in 22 goals in 52 minutes of play.


The Cougars will play again on Wednesday, March 14th on the road at Finger Lakes Community College at 4pm.
