Swimming and Diving: Herkimer Invitational Recap

The Genesee Community College swimming and diving team combined to take second place at the Herkimer County Community College Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon with the men placing second and the women third.

The Genesee Community College swimming and diving team combined to take second place at the Herkimer County Community College Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon with the men placing second and the women third.
Yusuke Inami set two more team records with his first place finish in the 400 IM (4:25.45) and 200 yard butterfly (2:01.75), and was also the top finisher in the thirteen swimmer 100 yard freestyle race with a finishing time of 49.76. The men’s 400 yard medley relay team of Inami, John Hickey, Dustin Pratt and Brandon Schwab set the pace with a first place finish of 4:06.15 and Hickey also took first in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:33.62).
The Lady Cougars only traveled with four swimmers and earned a first place finish with Taylor Henry who won the 200 yard breaststroke with a finishing time of 2:54.20. Alysha Phillips and Emily Mott both swam to second place in the 200 yard backstroke and 200 yard butterfly respectively.
