Swimming and Diving Split at Jamestown

The Genesee Community College swimming and diving team split at Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night, with the men coming away with a 103-66 victory and the women falling 69-78. Yusuke Inami (Chikusei, Japan) took the top spot in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 54.

Yusuke Inami (Chikusei, Japan) took the top spot in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 54.79 and was part of the winning 200 yard freestyle relay team that included Max Brady (Akron, NY), Brandon Wyrosdick (Mount Morris, NY) and Brandon Schwab (Gainsville, NY). They posted a finishing time of 1:39:40. Schwab also earned a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle finishing in 57.32 and John Hickey (Bergen, NY) and Dustin Pratt finished first in the 100 yard breaststroke and 100 yard backstroke respectively.
Alysha Phillips (Attica, NY) took first in the 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke and Emily Mott (Oakfield, NY) won the 100 yard butterfly. Mott and Phillips teamed up with Taylor Henry (Batavia, NY) and Kylie Bank (Alexander, NY) to win the 200 yard medley relay with a finishing time of 2:11:09 and Bank also won the 100 yard breaststroke finishing in 1:27:97.
Next up for the swimming and diving team is the Herkimer County Community College Invitational which will take place on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1pm.
