ALBION, NY—The Albion Campus Center of Genesee Community College will host a Fall Student Art Show with an opening reception tonight, (Wednesday, November 16) from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. The Fall Student Art Show at the Albion Campus will feature the works of students enrolled in the new 3D Design class offered by art instructor Karen Todd as well as students in Todd’s Two-Dimensional Design class, and Drawing I and II classes.
The four classes provide a wide variety of pieces for the exhibit. The media ranges from pencil and ink drawings to pastel, painted designs and vintage posters to mixed media. Students in the 3D class used a variety of materials in their constructions, including paper, wire, and wood.
“The students’ inventiveness and creativity inspire me,” said Todd. “Having 3D at the Albion Campus increases the students’ opportunities and stretches the learning experience.”
The juried art show, which is open to the public, will run through December 6. The Albion Campus Center is a Genesee Regional Arts Council (GO-ART!) Satellite Gallery and the art work is available for public viewing from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Mondays through Thursdays, and on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The winners will be recognized at the Albion Campus Center Open House on Saturday, December 3, from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
