Batavia, New York—Genesee Community College and the Fine and Performing Arts committee is proud to present Hobnobbin’ Goblins, a Robert Rogers, Halloween-themed puppet show. A one-time performance event is set for Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 am. This all ages, family-friendly show will take place in the Stuart Steiner Theatre located at the Batavia Campus.

After the trick-or-treaters finish their neighborhood rounds and go indoors for the night, the goblins and ghosts come out to stage their own celebration of Halloween. Hobnobbin’ Goblins is all action and all music, funny - not scary- and full of surprises. Performing in front of a colorful backdrop suggesting a cool October evening, Robert Rogers brings his cast to life, using their special characteristics to interpret a lively musical score.

Besides being a puppeteer, Robert Rogers creates all of his own puppets. Each puppet is one-of-a-kind, and handmade. It takes months to build the elaborate puppets as well as the scenery that decorates the stage. The puppets start out as lumps of clay and blocks of wood that are sculpted, shaped, carved, cast, painted and clothed. After the performance, Mr. Rogers will give a workshop on his puppeteering skills to anyone who wishes to stay after the performance.

Patrons are encouraged to come early to see the free “flash mob” performance of “My Last Halloween” in the lobby of the Stuart Steiner Theatre by Ann Reid’s music students at 10:45 am.

General admission ticket prices for the Hobnobbin’ Goblins puppet show are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for non-GCC students, senior citizens (55+) and GCC faculty and staff, and $3.00 for GCC students with a valid ID.

In addition, there is a special pricing event, purchase an adult or senior ticket and get a child ticket FREE! Bring the entire family for a safe and fun Halloween event!
