Developing a Winning Resume will present various types of resume formats, organization, structure, and key components, as well as separating your resume from others. Participants will learn updated information from employers regarding scanned resumes, how to submit a resume electronically and what information and key words employers are looking for in today’s job market. Participants are encouraged to bring their current resumes (hard copy or on flash drive).
Submitting a Resume Online will cover the do’s and don’ts of electronic resumes. In today’s Internet-driven world, having an electronic resume (one that can be easily emailed) is imperative for job seekers. Learn from an actual employer the various electronic tips and strategies for proper submission of an electronic resume. This workshop will be presented by John McGowan of the GCC Career Services Center and Cindy Carpenter, Human Resources at Verizon Wireless.
“Most employers today are asking for electronic submissions of resumes and applications,” John McGowan said. “Students should know some of the tips and tricks to get their resumes out there for employers to see.”
