The Genesee Community College Women's Soccer team lost their home opener to Monroe Community College on Tuesday night, by a final score of 3-1.
The Lady Tribunes struck first when freshman Alison Campbell scored in the 16th minute. Campbell scored again twenty minutes later, in the 36th minute, to put MCC up 2-0.
The Lady Cougars drew within one before half when Hannah Edlen (Mt. Morris, NY), scored her first goal of the year, making it a 2-1 game after the first 45 minutes of play.
MCC played strong defensively in the second half, not allowing the Lady Cougars a scoring chance. Alison Campbell scored the lone goal of the second half, her third goal of the game, to give the Lady Tribunes a 3-1 lead. The goal came in the 6th minute.
Genesee Community College falls to 1-2 on the season and will play at home once again on Thursday, September 8th at 5pm against Erie Community College.
