Men's Soccer Impressive in Win

The Genesee CC Men's Soccer team opened their season with a 5-0 win at Broome CC on Saturday afternoon in scorching temperatures reaching 95 degrees on the heat index by kickoff. The Cougars did not allow the heat to pose any problems for them as they took a 2-0 lead in at half-time with both goals coming from Dom Francis with Josh Gray and Jonny Bonner providing the assists.

The Cougars did not allow the heat to pose any problems for them as they took a 2-0 lead in at half-time with both goals coming from Dom Francis with Josh Gray and Jonny Bonner providing the assists. Broome rarely troubled the Cougars goal as Brady Smith and Cody Niccloy led the defense.
The Cougars finished the game off early in the second half through goals from Theo Stamatoplous and Brandon Reiner with Dom Francis turned provider for both. Broome also conceded an unfortunate own goal after a goalmouth scramble. In the end GCC ran out comfortable 5-0 winners.
Genesee CC (1-0) will play next on Wednesday, September 7th at Monroe CC at 4pm.
