The record books will have be done for the Genesee Men’s Lacrosse team as their historic season wrapped up today at the 2011 NJCAA National Tournament. The #4 seed Cougars were defeated by #1 seed and defending national champions Onondaga CC 24-4. Freshmen Gaehnew Printup (Tuscarora, NY) and Rashad Brown (Lockport, NY) were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

The national tournament appearance marked the first time Genesee has participated in the tournament since the program was started five years ago. Three Cougars earned All-American honors with sophomore JD SKura (Clarence, NY) earning 1st team accolades, while freshmen Connor Latimar (Whitby, ON) and Printup earned 2nd team honors.
In addition to the national appearance, the team’s 15-4 record set a program single season record for most victories; equally impressive is that the season saw the Cougars put together a 12 game winning streak. Of their four losses, three came at the hand of Onondaga, two in the post season (Region III Championship game and the national tournament). The fourth loss came to Monroe CC to close the regular season; Genesee avenged the loss the following weekend in the Region III tournament.

Individually, the season saw Printup and Latimer set and reset the team record for goals and points in single season.
