Victory Propels Men's Lax to #4 Nationally!!

The Genesee Men's Lacrosse team moved up in the NJCAA National Lacrosse poll from #10 to #4 following Sunday's 11-8 victory against #4 ranked Suffolk CCC. Freshman attack Will Mulcahy (Batavia, NY) led the Cougars offensively with four goals and one assist.

The Genesee Men’s Lacrosse team moved up in the NJCAA National Lacrosse poll from #10 to #4 following Sunday’s 11-8 victory against #4 ranked Suffolk CCC. Freshman attack Will Mulcahy (Batavia, NY) led the Cougars offensively with four goals and one assist.

The Cougars strong defensive play from both midfielders and defensemen stood out as a key to the victory. In this area sophomore midfielder Andy Telban (East Aurora, NY) had a huge day going 8 of 16 on faceoffs and grabbing six ground balls. Fellow sophomore long-stick-middie Zach Smith (Rochester, NY) and defensemen JD Skura (Clarence, NY) each had three takeaways and grabbed five and seven groundballs respectfully.

Offensively, Connor Latimer (Whitby, ON) had three goals, Geahnew Printup (Tuscarora, NY) had two goals and one assist, Spencer Halliwell-Allen (St. Catherines, ON) had a goal and an assist, and Christian Reiller (Salamanca, NY) chipped in with a goal.

Men’s Lacrosse will return to action at home Saturday April 9, as they face Jefferson CC at 1 pm.
