The Genesee Men’s Lacrosse team shutout Cayuga CC Wednesday night 17-0, the victory improves the Cougars to 2-1 in Region III play and overall. Freshman goalie Zach Wilson (Lewis Center, OH) recorded his first career shutout by stopping all eight shots on net.

The Cougars high powered offense got off to quick start scoring 11 goals in the first quarter. Leading the way on offense was freshman attack-man Conner Latimer (Whitby, ON) who put in five. Following the offensive performance in the first quarter, Genesee’s defense formed an impenetrable perimeter around their net that forced Cayuga to either take low quality shots or a turnover.

Freshman Gaehnew Printup (Tuscarora, NY) had four goals and two assist on the night, while fellow freshman and local Batavian Kyle Maniace assisted two of the goals.

Genesee will close out this three game home stand against Tompkins-Cortland CC on Saturday at 1 pm.
