Free Throws Carry Basketball Past Monroe

Genesee Men’s Basketball advanced to 17-10 on the season and 8-4 in the WNYAC with a 87-83 win over Monroe Community College. The Cougars were led by Dominique Aberdeen (Baldwin, NY) who scored 29 points, including 10 in the last 3:25 of the game.

Adding 22 points for the Cougars was Deylon Bovell (Brooklyn, NY) while freshman Tyshawn Ferguson (Chicago, IL) chipped in with12. The game went back and forth throughout, with Monroe taking a 67-63 midway through the second half before Aberdeen took over the game. Genesee played solid defense down the stretch and connected on 16-22 of their free throws in the second half.

The Men’s Basketball team will have their final home game this Thursday at 8 pm against Erie Community College.
