S & D Ends Regular Season Competition

The swimming and diving teams ended their regular season competition by hosting the 2011 Genesee Winter Classic. The invitational saw swimmers from Erie CC, Herkimer CCC and Jamestown CC, compete in all 13 individual swimming events that will be competed in the post season.

The swimming and diving teams ended their regular season competition by hosting the 2011 Genesee Winter Classic. The invitational saw swimmers from Erie CC, Herkimer CCC and Jamestown CC, compete in all 13 individual swimming events that will be competed in the post season. To give the swimmers an opportunity to concentrate solely on improving their standings for the post season team scoring was not conducted at the meet.

Freshman Brady Smith (Brisbane, Australia) led the Cougars swim teams with season best times in the 50 yard freestyle (23.28 seconds), 100 yd freestyle (53.02) and the 200 backstroke (2:25.66). Additional swimmers posting season best times included the following:

Freshmen Joe Agerskow (East Yorkshire, England) in the 100 and 200 breaststroke; Max Brady (Akron, NY) in the 100 breaststroke; Carrie Dylag (Attica, NY) in the 100 backstroke; Lauren Hughes (Elba, NY) in the 50 and 100 freestyle; Kristina Kasper (Albion, NY) in the 500 freestyle; and sophomore Justin Perry (Batavia, NY) in the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
The swimming and diving teams will head to Monroe Community College for the 2011 Region III/Northeast District Tournament held February 11-13, 2011.
