Men's B-Ball Narrowly loses to Monroe

The Genesee Men’s Basketball team went down to the final minute of play with rival Monroe Community College at home but came up short as Monroe won 70-61. Genesee’s top performer was freshman guard Tyshawn Ferguson (Chicago, IL) who led the Cougars in both points and rebounds with 16 and 12 respectfully.

Genesee’s top performer was freshman guard Tyshawn Ferguson (Chicago, IL) who led the Cougars in both points and rebounds with 16 and 12 respectfully.

The end of the first half found Monroe leading by three with the score 32-29. Genesee was able to out rebound Monroe (on the game) in both the offensive and defensive zones, Monroe’s free throw shooting proved to lethal as they outscored Genesee 20-9 in this department. Other top performers for the Cougars included Dominique Aberdeen (Baldwin, NY) who had 15 points, seven defensive rebounds and three assists. Additionally, Deylon Bovell (Brooklyn, NY) had eight points, seven total rebounds, and four steals.

Genesee Men’s Basketball returns to action as they travel to Erie Community College this Saturday (January 29) at 4 pm.
