Women's B-Ball Runs by NCCC

The women's basketball team defeated Niagara County Community College by a score of 88 to 68 Tuesday night at NCCC. The Lady Cougars took the lead in the beginning going up 40-29 at halftime and never looked back.

The women’s basketball team defeated Niagara County Community College by a score of 88 to 68 Tuesday night at NCCC. The Lady Cougars took the lead in the beginning going up 40-29 at halftime and never looked back. Genesee’s full court pressure defense proved to be too much for Niagara to handle as the Lady Cougars caused Niagara to turn the ball over 29 times, 18 of which were steals.

Sophomore Krystie Laurey (Horseheads, NY) led the Cougars with 23 points and 4 steals. While fellow sophomore Shakatta Brown (Rochester, NY) followed with 13 points and 3 assists. Freshmen Jasmine Armstead (Rochester, NY) stepped up for the Lady Cougars scoring 10 points and giving out 7 assists to help her team to another solid team win.

The Genesee Women will play Monroe Community College at home this Thursday at 6 pm.
