GCC Women's Soccer Coach Kelly Gillow named National Northeast Coach of The Year. GCC Women's Soccer Coach Kelly Gillow was recently named National Northeast Coach of The Year by the NSCAA.

GCC Women’s Soccer Coach Kelly Gillow was recently named National Northeast Coach of The Year by the NSCAA.

Gillow came to GCC as the head women’s soccer coach in 2007, bringing many years of collegiate playing and coaching experience. She competed in Division I Soccer at the University of Buffalo, and captained the team in her senior year.
She garnered coaching experience prior to GCC at Niagara County CC, Canisius College, and at the secondary and club levels.

Gillow has been honored as the New York State West Olympic Development Coach of the Year for 2008 and most recently was named NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year.

In the 2009 Fall season, Gillow led the Lady Cougars to the final four of the nationals tournament, and was honored as the Region III and District A Coach of the Year. It was GCC’s forst ever appearance at the final four, and it was repeated in 2010 when GCC lost in the finals by one goal. Two of Gillow’s players - Jessie Jaszko and Dzindi Asamoah-Wade also received national recognition.

Peg Sisson, GCC Athletic Director said that “Kelly is an exceptional coach! We are very lucky to have her at Genesee. She is a great motivator and teacher of the game”.

Kelly received her BA from UB, and her Master’s from Canisius College. She resides in North Tonawanda with her husband, Beau.
