GCC Men Cougars got by the Cuyahoga CC Challengers 75-70 in a tightly contested contest Thursday night at GCC.
The Cougars were up 25-13 halfway through the first half when Cuyahoga went on a 22-9 run to lead at the half 35-34.
GCC settled down in the second half and the game was close down the stretch, but Deylon Bovell iced the game with two free throws with 9 seconds left in the game to give GCC a 5 point lead.
Dominique Aberdeen led GCC with 22 points including four three pointers, Deylon Bovell kicked in 19, and Jason Henry led all rebounders with 7 boards. GCC scored 16 points off turnovers, and shot 60% from the line in the second half to seal the deal.
The game was a good test for GCC heading into the Cougar Holiday Classic Tournament Friday and Saturday at GCC.
