The men's baseball team won three out of four games this past weekend. The team split with Erie Community College on Friday winning the first game 6-5 and losing the second game 3-0. In game one, the team was led by John Polonius and Alex Harms. Both players combined for four hits and three RBI's. Greg Rapp got his second win on the mound going five innings giving up one earn run and walking no batters. In game two, the Cougars only managed two hits as Shaun Slemko took the tough loss giving up all three runs in the first inning.
On Sunday, the team beat Mercyhurst North East to maintain first place in the Western New York Athletic Conference with a 6-2 record. In game one, it only took five innings for the team to win 12-1. The team was led by Jacob Featherstone and Adam Grace who each had two hits for the Cougars. On the mound, Dan Sharpe got his first college win going five innings, giving up one hit, one run while striking out four and walking none. In game two, the Cougars scored three in the first and one in the second to beat the Saints 4-1. Nate Smith led the team with two hits while pitcher Kyle Taylor got the win going five innings.
The teams plays next weekend to close out the regular fall conference season by playing a double header on Saturday against Niagara County Community College and Sunday against Alfred State College. Both games will be played at Dwyer Stadium will have a 1pm start time.
